let’s remember those who are less fortunate…

Dear Friends,

We would like invite you to join us in our Christmas celebration this year. Our event themedA Special Christmas and YOU" will be held at our Center in Petaling Jaya on Friday the 28th of December 2007 from 6 PM to 10.00 PM.

“A Special Christmas and YOU” is simply a way to appreciate special needs children and to let them have this joyful night together. This event is organized to bring special needs children from several organizations together and to help them celebrate their uniqueness and their strengths. We intend to help these children cherish this Christmas by providing them the opportunity to feel blessed and appreciated.  Our aim is to put a smile on their faces this Christmas, and we are very confident we can achieve this with the help from special people like you. Our theme emphasizes the "special" in them, in the kind people and organizations coming together to celebrate with these children, and the season of giving that has become almost universal.

There is NO ADMISSION FEE for this event, but we would invite you to sponsor or contribute monetary and/or in kind gifts towards this celebration.  Monetary contributions will go towards the dietary needs of the children, Christmas gifts/prizes for them, lucky draws and so forth. We truly want to make this a memorable evening for these children. For that reason, we would like to appeal to your generosity and request your kind contribution towards making this event a success.

We trust you will agree with us that these children are indeed special and deserving our attention and appreciation no more or less during this wonderful season of joy and of sharing. We are confident with your support, we will be able to meet our goal, which is to bring a touch of magic into the lives of all who will participate in this celebration of "A Special Christmas and YOU." We look forward to a favorable response from you. For ourselves and for the children, do allow us to thank you in advance your helping us make this indeed a Special Christmas for a Special group of people.

  • A slice of lemon bound over a corn overnight will greatly relieve the pain.

  • A slice of lemon bound over a felon [pus formation on a finger joint] will not fail to bring the pus to the surface where it can be easily removed.

  • To relieve asthma, take a tablespoon of lemon juice one hour before each meal.

  • For liver complaints, the juice of the lemon should be taken in a glass of hot water one hour before breakfast every morning.

  • To break up la grippe [flu or influenza], drink a large glass of hot water with the juice of a lemon added, while at the same time have the feet in a deep bucket or other vessel of water with mustard added to it. The water should be deep enough to where it comes nearly up to the knees. Keep adding hot water to the patient’s tolerance and until the patient begins to perspire freely (about 20-30 minutes). Be sure there is no draft on the person while this is done. The patient should be near a bed so he can get in it easily and avoid any danger of getting chilled. If convenient, a full hot bathtub would be good in place of the foot-bath. The lemon water should be taken every hour until the patient feels that all the symptoms of the cold are gone.

  • A teaspoon of lemon juice in half a glass of water relieves heartburn.

  • For rheumatism, one or two ounces of lemon juice diluted in water should be taken three times a day: one hour before meals and at bedtime.

  • In cases of hemorrhage, lemon juice diluted in water and taken as cold as possible will stop it.

  • Scurvy is treated by giving one to two ounces of lemon juice diluted with water every two to four hours.

  • In excessive menstruation the juice of three to four lemons a day will help check it. Best to take the juice of one lemon at a time in a glass of cold water.

Buying a sweet lemon :

Some lemons are sweeter than others. A rule of thumb for selecting a lemon that is both sweet and high in mineral content is to pick one that has a high specific gravity measurement and is heavy for its size. By comparing equal-sized fruit, the one with the greatest weight will have the most mineral content and sugar. A thick skinned lemon will not be as heavy as a thin skinned lemon and will not have the desired sweetness or mineral content.

The method I use to ensure the purchase of sweet lemons is to look at the stem end of the lemon. There are two ends on the lemon. One end has a point where the blossom started to grow; the other end has a stem or a dimple where the stem used to be located. On the stem end of a highly mineralized, sweet lemon, you will see little lines radiating out of the stem like sunbeams. These little lines can look like a star shaped structure and is called a calyx. The calyx may have three, four, five or more points to the star. The greater the number of points on the calyx, the higher the mineral content of the lemon.

His G.R.A.C.E.

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

I got this from William (Wesley’s youth counsellor)…I think this is a good article and would like to share it with all.. it is about G.R.A.C.E.

Before that, let me share with you something….

I was talking to Samuel the other day, regarding hurts and disappointment in relationship..the question is " What will you do if you are hurt by your partner? Will you revenge (hurt your partner back the same way he/she hurt you) or tell them that you are hurt by their actions or will you just walk away(break up)?"
At the very beginning, I actually told him that i will revenge (which is not such a good response and word to use; I repent!!! :P ) then after discussion, i decided that i will not revenge…Neither will I walk away without putting effort to mend the relationship. I will first talk to him about what i felt is wrong or is hurting me, then if the same thing happen again and again for like…XXX times or more, then I will decide to see if I should really walk away…(This doesn’t just apply to relationship with our partner, but for everything, for everyone..)
There certainly should not be any revenge in a relationship, be it in a marriage, friendship or relationship…Revenge is not something we ought to do, we are to LOVE and to be forgiving,in this case, it is also giving G.R.A.C.E.. We should not hurt the other party back, not with our actions or words…Hurtful words can be very damaging and it is really hurtful, it will leave a scar, some, a few scars or scars that are too deep that only God can cure..Words that come out from out tongue can be of support, building a person up OR of hurts, which can bring a person down. Thus, be very careful of the words that come out from our mouth, instead of using it to hurt people, why not use it to encourage, support, love, and build up a person? The same goes with our actions, instead of doing it to hurt a person and at the same time, hurting yourself, why not use it to bring glory to God? Shine for Him and show His love to others through our actions?

To use our words and actions wisely, we need grace and to have grace, we need God (it might sound a bit too holy, but i think it is true)…

As for me, i am still learning..not to revenge by actions or words, but to love a person and the people around me with G.R.A.C.E., L.O.V.E., and M.E.R.C.Y.. For all of us need grace…

Do spend sometime reading the material below, it is sent by William…Hope that you all are blessed thru this…Let us all learn to give grace, I am learning…and still learning…

Grace is hardest when we are accused of something we know isn’t true. We can’t really forgive until we see ourselves “forgiven” by God. And with HIS Grace and strength we will overcome the evil intentions of our heart for personal revenge. May God heal all of us as we go to HIM daily. May God be with us.

The Root of Bitterness
TGIF Today God Is First, by Os Hillman

See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. -

Hebrews 12:15

The enemy of our souls has a very specific strategy to destroy relationships. Whether these relationships are in business, marriage, or friendships, the strategy is the same. A conflict arises, judgments are made, and feelings are hurt. What happens next is the defining point of whether the enemy gains a foothold, or the grace of God covers the wrong.

When a root of bitterness is allowed to be planted and grown, it not only affects that person, but it also affects all others who are involved. It is like a cancer.

Breaking satan

s foothold requires at least one person to press into God

s grace. It cannot happen when either party "feels" like it, for none of us will ever feel like forgiving. None of us feel like talking when we have been hurt. Our natural response is to withdraw or lash out at the offending party. It is only obedience that allows God

s grace to cover the wrongs incurred. This grace prevents the parties from becoming victims who will seek compensation for their pain.

The next time you are hurt by someone, realize the gravity of the crossroads where you find yourself. Choose grace instead of bitterness. Then you will be free to move past the hurt, and a root of bitterness will not be given opportunity to grow.
